To avoid the traditional problems experienced with magnets, a special system that leaves minimal suspension marks and eliminates cooling problems is now available. This system consists of magnet holders in zinc/aluminum that can be attached to 0.157" wire leads. A magnet is pressed into the holder, and then a special silicone rubber mask is placed over the holder. Two metal plates are inserted into grooves on the side of the magnet. These transfer the magnetic force and press against the component that is to be painted. When too much paint has accumulated on the metal plates the suspender can be given a new lease of life by simply replacing the metal plates. Suspension marks are minimal because of the way in which the metal plates are designed.
Magnet MHM11 is a ferrite magnet, which has good holding power for lighter goods; MHM21 is a bigger ferrite magnet, with considerably greater holding power. Both magnets can withstand temperatures of up to 500° F.
